To be able to take advantage of the updated keyword tool in Market Samurai, you’ll need to have a Google Adwords account.

In this video we’ll take a look at how to set one up, completely from scratch.

In the keyword research module, just click the link up here that says “Generate up to 800 keywords!”.

You’ll then be presented with a dialog box containing 2 links.

For this example I’m going to select the option that says “If you do not have an Adwords account you can click here to find out how to get one”

This will take you to the Google Adwords setup page where you can create a new account.

The first step is to select the option that best describes your situation. The options provided are:

1) I have a google account and password that I use with other Google services, or
2) I do not use these other services.

Because I’m starting from scratch. I’ll select “I do not use these other services”.

Google will then ask you for an email address and password to associate with your new account.

Then, to re-enter your password, and a capture message to verify that I’m a real person.

Then click the create account button.

Next, you'll need to select a time zone and currency for your account. It’s important to take a moment here to consider which of these are best for you as these settings cannot be changed later on.

To help you make an informed decision, here are a few things to consider when choosing the time zone and currency which are right for you.

So coming back to the account signup page:

Because I live in Australia, I’ll select Australia for my time zone country, and Melbourne for my time zone.

The “Australian Dollar” for my currency.

And then click continue.

Google then notifies me that my account has been setup, and that they have sent me a message to verify my that email address is correct.

So all I have to do is go to my email inbox and open the message.

Then click the verification link.

Google then confirms that my email address has been verified and my account has been activated.

My Adwords account is now ready to use in Market Samurai.

So coming back to Market Samurai, I can select the “click here to enter your Adwords details” button.

Enter my Adwords email address and password.

Click the ‘Add Account’ button.

And then click “Save”.

Market Samurai then shows me that I’m using my Adwords account to generate my list of keywords.

And I can click the “Generate Keywords” button to generate a list of 800 keywords as usual.
