I wish we thought of this SEO software first…

Here’s some very smart SEO / link-building software that we didn’t create – but I wish we did…

The 30-Second Summary for Busy People…

Michelle MacPhearson released some very smart new SEO software this week.

It “reverse engineers” Google’s results pages while you watch…

Then it gives you a blueprint showing the top high authority, keyword relevant sites to target for backlinks that will improve your rankings.

And you can get it free here. (Yes, it works on both PC and Mac.)

Note: Expect to leave your name and email address in exchange for your copy, but that’s it… The software is free – no upsells to an “advanced version” or one-time offers on signup – once you’ve entered your email address, the software’s free.

What Makes The “Rank Decoding Engine” So Cool?

When I first used it, I was impressed with the “Rank Decoding Engine” because it’s so simple – but so clever.

What the software does is simply show you the sites that consistently rank well in Google – in your specific niche, or in general.

These are the sites that Google recognizes as the most trusted, high authority, most relevant websites…

  • Trusted sites;
  • High authority sites;
  • Relevant to your niche.

Finding sites that tick all three boxes is like finding the holy grail of link building. These are the places to get the best backlinks (links back to your site) if you want top rankings.

So simple, and so clever.

That’s what impressed me about Michelle’s software.

(And I’m kicking myself that I didn’t think of it first! “Authority Link Finder Samurai” has a nice ring to it, don’t you agree?…)

So why do high authority, relevant backlinks matter?

Because Google says so.

Google wants to see links pointing to your site from other high authority sites in your market before it gives you top rankings.

Take it from them:

“Thematic incoming links from authority sites carry more weight than on-page optimization”

- Matt Cutts (Google Engineer and unofficial Google SEO Spokesman)

“Google interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote from Page A to Page B. Votes cast by pages that are themselves important weigh more heavily and help make other pages important”

- Google on Creating a “Google-Friendly Site”

So targeting the most trusted, high authority sites in your market for link building can give you the biggest bang for your link building buck.

That’s why Michelle’s Rank Decoding Engine software is so valuable.

How to Download the Rank Decoding Engine:

To get Michelle MacPhearson’s new Rank Decoding Engine, you’ll need to sign up here:

Get the Rank Decoding Engine
(For Mac and PC.)

You’ll be asked for your name and email address, but that’s it… The software is free – there are no upsells to an “advanced version” – it’s just free.

(After you’ve received your download link, make sure you watch the video on the download page. It explains in detail how the software works, and gives you an action plan for how to use it on your site.)

Once you’ve downloaded it, read on…

3 Samurai Tips for Using the Rank Decoding Engine…

When you begin using the software, there are 3 Samurai tips I recommend you use to get the most value out of the Rank Decoding Engine.

1. Watch What Happens…

If you already own the full version of Market Samurai, don’t forget to use it to track your rankings!

You should be doing this before and after any SEO activity.

(After all – you can’t optimize something if you’re not measuring it!)

Before you begin, put your main keywords and URLs into Market Samurai’s Rank Tracker so that you can watch your rankings as they rise.

Not only is it encouraging when you see your site’s rankings rise, it also reinforces that what you’re doing is actually working.

2. Get the Right Keywords

The Rank Decoding Engine will check up to 10 of your keywords to show you which sites consistently rank well in your niche.

Rather than picking keywords randomly, get Market Samurai to show you the keywords that Google thinks are most relevant to your main niche keyword.

Because you’ll be asking Google for both the most relevant keywords in your niche (through Market Samurai), and the most relevant sites to those keywords (through the Rank Decoding Engine), you can be sure that the sites you’re targeting for backlinks are the most relevant high authority sites in your niche.

To find the keywords that are most relevant to your main keyword, enter your main keyword into Market Samurai’s Keyword Research module and select 10 of the most closely related keywords that Market Samurai generates for you.

Tick the boxes to the left of the keywords, then select “Actions on selected” then “Copy tags (comma separated)” and paste the keywords into the Rank Decoding Engine.

3. Build Feeder Pages

Rather than just focussing on the quickest easiest links (e.g. blog commenting), spend some time building “feeder pages”…

No doubt you’ll find a bunch of web 2.0 and user generated content sites in the mix where you can upload your own content (and put backlinks to your site inside the content.)

It might take a little longer to write and upload an article, but it has a double benefit for SEO.

Not only is this valuable for backlinks, it also gives you “feeder pages” – content on other high authority sites that have a good chance of ranking well themselves, and driving even more traffic to your site.

…But of course, you’ll need Michelle MacPhearson’s Rank Decoding Engine first to do all this (here).

    Awesome, thanks for sharing!

One question: What do you mean by “build feeder pages”? Do you mean building a whole site, or actually a single page?

    Brent Hodgson replied:

A single page (on a site like Squidoo, Weebly, Hubpages, YouTube etc) that not only links to your site for SEO benefit, but also aims to send as many visitors to that page to your site too.

    Oliver replied:

Thanks for the quick reply! Good to know the proper term… I always called those “Outposts” for lack of a better term. :)

    Brent Hodgson replied:

    I like that – “Outposts” :)

    Scott Junner replied:

I like “Outposts” better than “Feeder Pages”. I’m using it.

  2. There’s always something good in the emails that I receive from you. Either good posts or freebies. Thanks for sharing!

  3. 3

Can you not just do the same thing by typing something into google?

    Alex replied:

Like most SEO software, it *is* working with existing information – technically you could get this information by typing something into Google and trawling through results.

The difference is that this is happening after typing in just a handful of keywords and hitting “search”.

The Rank Decoding Engine looks at which sites show up consistently for multiple keywords in a niche and can look through several pages (I think it’s five) of Google results to pull together the information. The time it would take to do it all manually would be huge!

  4. 4

You don’t need to create new software (“Authority Link Finder Samurai”) as you did with Domain Samurai, just update market samurai’s link module (promotion).
    P. S. There is no updates in market samurai for long time… Adwords module “coming soon”… and so on…

  5. Thanks for pointing this software out to us, I’ve heard good things about Crowd Mountain, and now I can see why.

    Lynsey Pat

  6. Absolutely top-notch stuff from you guys – every single time. You came highly recommended, and you’ve never disappointed!
    Keep it up. :)

  7. I’m lloking forward to this, I’m so tired of all the other offers that take your hard earned money and run.

    Thanks Michelle

  8. Thanks for the heads up on the software. It should be a good tool that is compatible with your product Noble Samurai.

  9. Thanks for the tip. This should make a nice addition to the marketing samurai software.

  10. Samurai folks,

It would be great if you would someone convince Michelle to allow you to include this as a module in Market Samurai so that it can be used from within Market Samurai ;-)

    Alex replied:

Haha, that would be nice Brian, but this one is Michelle’s baby. We won’t be making this into a Market Samurai module.

Whilst we’d love to expand Market Samurai in all directions simultaneously, it’s just not practical.

Thankfully for the SEO community, Michelle has this functionality covered!

  11. You guys rock! I love it when I get your email cos there is always a piece of gold in it! :) I shall be using this nifty piece of software now :) Thanks.

  12. Excellent. It leads into the question as to how do you get the backlinks. Knowing where to get them is 1/2 the challange. Have you got any good ideas as to how to secure the backlinks? Thanks in advance. Kevin

  13. Wow – tested it out. very nice.

  14. The link that is referred to in the email that’s sent is down..

java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1

Probably got slashdot’d from your Blog/Email post :D

    Brent Hodgson replied:

Looks like it’s back up and running right now. (I think you’re right… we probably slashdot’d it)

    Thanks for letting me know

  15. I am heading over to get the free software now, but I just wanted to say thanks for such great info. I don’t always have time to read what you send, but I do appreciate such great info and love what I read whenever I open one of your messages.

  16. As always Market Samurai sends best of the best techniques free of cost to its readers. Thanks so much once more.

  17. First let me say you guys sell your own software way too cheap. Yet, some of the most value I have gotten from you is the kind of info you post on this websites blog. This information is friggin sweet.

    Thanks a million.

  18. 18

Ha! I had a note to suggest a feature request to you guys this week – hub finder :-)

    Dave replied:

Actually, I take that back. You guys should add in a hub finder. This tool doesn’t find hubs.

  19. Brent, I can also vouch for Crowd Mountain giveaway…this is really pretty nifty. My first thoughts were…doesn’t Market Samurai do that now in some sort of way? I didn’t investigate it, but you answered my question. When I used it, of course I checked out my site using my keywords. I was impressed and the site is professionally done. There is “More Coming” links listed, so I believe there’ll be more stuff coming…then I’m sure there will be the purchase of something grand coming on. She is using the new marketing style that all the bigwigs are doing. Multiple good free tools and information, then the purchase of a big item.

  20. 20

Hi Great tool.. but when I click the 90 or 30 days get

Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket
    ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)

    Error in window ?

  21. What’s your opinion about the pace at which one should build links? I’ve always been under the impression that link-building that occurs too quickly appears spammy and suspicious to Google. Do you have a recommended pace, number, type that you pursue for each project?

    Alex replied:

There’s no hard limit to the number of links you can build in a given time.

Search engines look at the patterns in the link graph of a website to determine whether the pattern is natural or unnatural.

If you get a sudden burst of links from high-authority sites then there will be no penalty – for instance you could have released content that has drawn these sites to link to you.

But if your sudden burst of links comes from low authority sites or FFA sites, it may be penalised.

    Victor replied:

I appreciate your point so I dont want to sound picky but I would like to clarify your point for new players.

You are not “penalized” for anything that happens “offsite”, Google will hold you 100% accountable for anything that you do on you site ( hence you need to be vigilant about link spam hacks etc ) but when it is something that anyone could do regardless if they own the site or not there is never a “penalty”

There is only valued links and links with no value.

There is your time well spent and then your time completely utterly wasted.

If you could punish a site with publishing to link farms there would be Indian shops offering this as a service for you to use against your competitors sites.

I can you see the now…

“For just $500 we guarantee to put your competitors sites in enough FFA links sites that Google will have to slap them down the index. ”

Mine you will all the other SEO scams that are out there I am surprised that we haven’t seen this one yet.

    Peter replied:

What is a FFA site? And how come bursts of links from low authority sites may get you penalized?

Wouldn’t a burst of links from low authority sites just indicate that your network of sites is low authority in general?

    Victor replied:

FFA sites refer to sites that are “Free for All” in other words the barrier to “entry” is zero or no qualification required.

You are correct in asking your question about how getting a burst of links from authority sites would get you penalized, they don’t !

The simple answer restated from above, there is NO penalty for any site that gets a burst of links from low authority sites.

Further there is NO penalty or ANY kind for any activity to ANY site that could potentially be conducted by anyone other than the site owner.

You will be held accountable for any actions that require your logon, if you don’t need to prove your owner of a site then that action is simply viewed on a sliding scale of GOOD ( ie based on the authority of the individual link ) or it is NEUTRAL.

  22. Awesome email, information and software, always valuable!

  23. ok, i watched the vid for a few seconds and she couldnt confine herself saying how powerful youtube links are.

Problem…there is no such thing as “youtube links”..they are redirected or NoFollow….otherwise every SEO on earth would be all over it.

    JD replied:

Youtube links exists and with a series of kick ass quality videos…

= They can own a separate piece of first page Google real estate
(if you add decent descriptions and drive links to the videos)
= They drive traffic across from one of the most popular websites online.

But no they don’t give you much link-juice but they ARE still powerful links if you know how to script and create awesome videos or slideshows.

    CBPredators replied:

Yes, aware of that. But in the video it sounded like she thinks that YT links give link-juice which they certainly don’t :)

    ramil replied:

  24. Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)

  25. Thanks for this awesome update. If I may suggest one simple, yet powerful step; once you set up the feeder pages, social bookmark them to at least 3 marker sites like digg, technorati, delicious, etc… Theme your bookmark description and tags, feeder pages and the page on your main site to tightly relative keywords. This builds what some call a Silo and gives good SEO strength to your niche keywords :-)

    Brent Hodgson replied:

    Awesome point here by Eric.

if you’re building feeder pages, read this.

    (I also like Propeller

  26. Wow. This is a cool piece of software! This should make a great addition to Market Samurai.

    As always, thanks for sharing.

  27. Brett,

Another top notch recommendation Keep spoiling us, please! I use your stuff everyday multiple times, and really appreciate the tech behind the down to earth helpful approach of all the samurai stuff.

  29. Excellent, thanks Brent, signed up.

Wondering, isn’t that Comment Kahuna has a similar outlook?

    Alex replied:

Comment Kahuna works by searching for linking opportunities on various blogs and other sites, whereas the Rank Decoding Engine reviews Google SERPs and gives you a breakdown of the sites that are ranking well for the keywords you’ve provided.

So they have quite different fields of effect.

  30. Is do-follow blog commenting still relevant?

I mean does it still carry the same value as it used to earlier?

  31. Thanks Brent Now I’m on Michelle’s list also. Been checking out the new list building giveaways with the wave of Frank Kern students. Michelle may just have something of value here She usually has great value with anything she stands behind. I defiantly love and trust her!

Hope everything is great in your world.
    Hey from Las Vegas

    Brent Hodgson replied:

Always glad to hear from you Brad. Hope you and the rest of the clan are doing well up there in sunny Vegas.

Agreed – what I like about Michelle is that she gives more than she takes. I think that’s something that is becoming increasingly rare in the internet marketing world.

Say hi to the family for me!

    Brad West replied:

The family is saying hey back.

Not sure if I agree after the Frank Kern list launch everybody is giving crap away for free! Really haven’t found to much of any use yet though. Still on the product mission here, way slow.

    Well back to Samurai!

  32. Great free tool thanks…it would be great if they opened it out to other search engines in other countries like Google.co.uk.

Fingers crossed…it will arrive soon. Thanks again.

  33. Free?! Love free stuff. Something so good too. Glad to have it in my arsenal which continually grows thanks to this blog and a few others. I appreciate the time and effort you guys put into getting the word out there and I’m so glad that I am subscribed to your emails. Thanks for the work guys!

  34. Some folks are getting an error “Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)” – it’s being worked on right now by the Rackspace team. The Noble Samurai dojo was able to pull a Digg Effect on us, even though we’re redundant and cloud based and all that crazy new tech!

    Craig Mullins replied:

Probably some kind of max connections setting in mtsql my.conf…

Need to host the download on Amazon :)

    Michelle MacPhearson replied:

The download is hosted on a CDN and has no problems, it’s the database (which is also in the cloud) that has too many connections. Looks to be working fine now, but waiting for confirmation from Rackspace that it’s A-OK before announcing it.

    Mark replied:

Received error message also. I ran the file a second time and it worked.

Hubpages wants original content and penalizes if you repost articles from your blog, etc. Any suggestions or warnings about posting similar content on multiple sites?

  35. Wow! What a great tool. When I started on line marketing, I never knew the importance of backlinks. I mean quailty backlinks, not the buy in bulk stuff. With this tool, (and it’s free), I can find those quality back links. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Do you want to hear it again? Thank You.

  36. Brent,

Thank you for introducing us to this software!

You’re being a great example of how to keep in touch and add value to your subscribers – even when there is nothing in it for you (in the short run).

    I appreciate it!

  37. Just got the software. Looks great. Will try it out tonight – thank you very much!

  38. Nice find – so what’s the catch?

    Thesis Theme Customization replied:

Yah whats the catch?? There must be something

    Alex replied:

There’s no catch. If you find one though, please let us know and we’ll get rid of it ;)

  39. I don’t get it. What is the difference between using this software and simply doing a Google search to see what Googgle gives the most respect to?

    Brent Hodgson replied:

The software is documenting which sites show up consistently for multiple keywords in a niche (up to 50 results deep for each keyword, I think…)

It also shows the sites that show up consistently across all keywords too.

It’s a simple concept and it can be done manually, but (just like manual SEO analysis, for example) it would be a time consuming process to do.

  40. Thanks for sharing. I much appreciate your suggestions how to incorporate Rank Decoding Engine with Samurai. Each time you make a post I learn more in how to better implement my research with Samurai.

  41. 41

Once we have a list of the most trusted and relevent sites in our niche how do we go about approaching them to get them to add our link? And if we are asking for a link exchange, then on what part of our website would we place their link? Should I make a “resouces” page or something?

PS: If anyone has a sample e-mail that they send to these prospective link partners that would be great!

  42. Wow, How exciting! I remember Michelle from the 30 DC. Way to go Michelle! Thanks so much Michelle and Noble Sumurai…

  43. Oh thanks for tipping us off to this great Rank Decoding Engine – for Apple computers too! I’ve had to mentally sift thru Google results using various tactics to reveal who Goog _currently_ considers to be Top Authority sites. You’ve saved me a ton of brain cells for my SEO – SEM chores.

How’s about the Noble Samurai team coming up with something similar that does the same for Bing – Yahoo – Ask search?

  44. Awesome, thanks for sharing! *Samurai guys you are incredible!!

  45. Excellent find. It looks good, but Windows 7 comes up with a security warning when you run the .exe file: “The Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?”
    Should we be worried?

  46. Thanks for sharing

  47. I am looking forward the release of the software.

    Thanks Nobel Samurai with me.

    Alex replied:

The software’s already been released Jesse, there’s no wait!

  48. Excellent once again guys! I’ve used a couple of products from Michelle and always top notch!

    Keep these coming! :)

  49. thats a great software i have been bookmarking my sites and at the end i notice 60% of my bookmark is not high authority and Google never give them a credit

it will be a good idea to embed this software with market samurai even domain samurai should be embeded so we dont have to have multiple software windows open at once

  50. This is just a really cool tool. Thansk for sharing it. I have already learned a lot form this and I just downloaded the program.

  51. Looks Awesome! always good to have some extra tools in our belt

  52. This is a great post. Are you planning to add a module to Market Samurai, with similar but improved functionality.

  53. Great stuff. Can’t compete with the Samurai though! lol

  54. Crown Mountain has never shown up on my radar.

    Till today.

Very cool software not to mention super effective!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  55. Thanks for the heads-up Brent. If Michelle put this out, it’s got to be good. Just opted-in …

  56. I downloaded your software (thank you so much for sharing it for free – totally appreciated) and watched your video. Your hard work has produced in my opinion a truly time saving product that is so freaking useful to anyone on the Internet trying to market or just have a website. You are a genius and it shows how much heart you have put into this project. Then MAKING IT FREE is just karmically mind-blowing!

  57. There are leaders and there are followers. Michelle is definitely a leader. Go girl.

  58. Really useful software, and great because it’ll run on a Mac, too! :)

  59. Wow this is pretty awesome!

  60. I have seen this via other lists. I downloaded it because MS said so! If its good for you lot, its good for me.

  61. Yep Michelle has done it again… I’ve bought from her before.. she definitely over delivers in the value department..

  62. Hey concern if one of the sites (or several) are “no follow blogs” do they count as building links?

Google still wont count them correct?

  63. this is nice information. i will try this software

  64. I downloaded it and put it to use. It’s simple and brilliant. Thanks so much to Michelle and Crowd Mountain!!!

  65. 65

You guys at MS rock . . . I’ve learnt a lot of advanced stuff since being a member. Thanks & keep it coming.

    . . . Llewelyn

  66. Great information, very useful and a very useful tool, feeder sites are great, good advice and it has given me a very good idea, so here’s a great big double thank you very much, to Michelle MacPhearson, Brent.

  67. 67

hmm – link not working – just says “loading” :(

    Alex replied:

    Still having this issue Rick?

    Rick replied:

nope – all good – thx – must have just been “the tubes are clogged” issue ;)

  68. Norton Antivirus classified the program as “high risk”… are you trying to spread viruses??

    Alex replied:

    We’re not spreading viruses.

False positives occur when a pattern of code in the file matches the same pattern contained in a virus signature. This can occur due to a faulty signature. It doesn’t mean that the file contains a virus, just that it has fragments of code that the antivirus programme is misdiagnosing.

  69. Pretty useful software and I can see that it will help save some time, but I wouldn’t say that it’s mindblowing. I can’t complain though…it’s free!

    Thank You!

  70. Thanks for sharing, you always have good advice. I willm try to make good use of it. Time is always a factor.

  71. 71

Can I just make a observation here for newer readers.

If you are interested in getting into Internet Marketing and actually making some money watch what the team at Market Samurai are doing on this blog as case studies as well as for the good information.

These guys are doing everything right so this is a compliment NOT a criticism. A lot of the comments show you are missing the point.

This software is about giving away “free line content” creating credibility and trust with an audience and building a list quickly – a list is the most valuable thing you will ever own, experience will show you that your future success is in the size, quality and freshness of the list.

This process is every bit as valuable to Michelle and her team as it is for you the user, it is NOT a scam but neither is it pure generosity, its brilliant Internet Marketing live in action in front of your eyes – watch closely, study these guys moves.

I am not saying don’t say thank you , I am saying look closely at things like this or the Domain Samurai and try to see under the hood at how what appears to be “free software” is actually brilliant marketing with a massive return on investment for the providers.

This is the “make money online niche” you need to watch closer these guys can teach even more with what they do than what they say.

Tools like Domain Samurai are very good, but try to see where the massive wins is for the developers, then go out and replicate what you can. When you start getting emails from your customers raving about how generous you are and how great your free “content” is whatever that is when the money will start rolling in.

    Victor replied:

Sorry I just wanted to add this it might help explain just a little bit more.

    I am a software developer.

For years we offered a free 30 days trial on our products, let me tell you no one thanks you for a free trial, they use it and they buy it or they don’t, and to be honest they have the attitude that they are “entitled” to try before they buy ( which is fair enough )

However it is exactly the same amount of work to give away a licensed, functioning version of the software and tie your monetisation strategy in somewhere else, like an upgrade, or next years license when they cant live without it, or when they buy something a 3rd party product through the free software.

Suddenly you have people without the “attitude” that they are entitled to anything and the praise starts rolling in about how generous you are, if the product is good so will the money.

As I said this is brilliant marketing, these guys are a case study in how to do it right.

    Susan replied:

Just to add another thing happening here – List building.

Giving valuable information, report, software etc helps build a list of people interested in what you’re offering.

Making the said offer through a site like this makes it doubly profitable in teh long run because most of us here actually spent money on SEO software (Market Samurai) so in a way Michelle is bulding a more of a list of buyers – People who have actually spent money on SEO software.

Thank you for a the tips dotted here and the heads up on the software.

  72. I agree with Sean: I downloaded it because MS said so!! Period.

This is the power of trust – because MS is such a trusted source, one never has to wonder “what’s the catch”. So, firstly thank you Brent for sharing and then thanks to Michelle for this tool.

I am going to use it right away, it’s not difficult to see the power of this goodie!

  73. This is a cool piece of software! Looks great. Will try it out tonight.

  74. I trust MS. Hence this software ;)

  75. had a good play with this this morning Absolute Gold :)

  76. Have tried it for a few minutes and it looks good. Will start using it regularly.

    Thanks Michelle!

  77. I have market samurai and it is top notch. I download this Seo software because of your endorsement. Pretty good one. Thank you.

  78. Once again, fantastic service from you guys at NS! Finfing you guys has been the best thing I have done – cheers

  79. Great information. I’ve see your site a few time, rss bookmarked this time so I will be a regular reader. keep up the good work

  80. As a link builder this application is a great time saver and a must for anyones seo arsenal.

    Excellebnt work. Thanks.

  81. Great software!
    Thank you…

  82. This looks like a fantastic piece of software, thank you for sharing it with us.

  83. I have ust submitted my email address and as I am loving your software – I would made the assumption that a recommendation would be a good one. I am still waiting on the results of the work I have done so far – but after watching your tutorial videos, I have picked up on some really useful stuff, thanks!

  84. Great find. Thanks for the email.

  85. WOW – amazing tool. Thanks for the awesome information that never ends from you all.

  86. I’m confuse. What is a feeder site? Is it the same as Web 2.0 website? What is the difference between these two?

  87. Hi,
Thanks for that. Actually having the list of important sites in googles eyes to get links from is very effective indeed. I notice some article directories there too. Didn’t think articlebase was that important I must admit. I’m off to build some more links so thanks for that

  88. The MS endorsement convinced me to give this a try.

    Crowd Mountain launch upcoming?

  89. So, I tried posting this on her site but it didn’t work. Personally, I have a couple of criticisms about this bit of software of hers. I’m trying to help generate constructive conversation on this, so do chime in with your thoughts.

1 – The social media “historical” section feels a little bit fruitless to me. Sure, some of those sites move around a bit and wrestle for ranking, but overall, if you get your links on any of the top 15-20 of those sites, you’re still doing yourself a favor no matter if it’s YouTube on top one week or YouTube in the 15th position the next week. Then you have to consider the wait for Google to even find and cache your newly-created page/comment/et al, so by the time that happens, where is the social media site of your choice ranked at that moment? Who knows, but what I’m saying is it doesn’t matter so long as you’re using any one of the top 15-20 or more of those sites! So, with that in mind, what we have is a good top list of social media sites to build links on, but to focus on just the first handful based on a specific time range less feels a bit like chasing a false positive. If you’re going to TRULY do link building, why wouldn’t you just go ahead and target that whole list?

2 – I think the second component to the software is better suited for competition analysis more so than authoritative site-finding to build links in a laser-targeted niche. I say this because there’s a bit of a conundrum when considering how to get a link (and a dofollow link at that) to your site on pages that are authorities in your niche. Unless you’re targeting something broad enough that a social media site like YouTube ranks the highest for your niche/keyword (and I’ve found those to be quite rare when occurring for anything other than highly competive or spammy niches/keywords), it’s going to take a bit of luck to find a niche that has authoritative sites willing to link to yours. I mean, let’s face it, if you’re trying to get to the top for your niche, would you let someone like yourself build a link to their site through yours? Not me!

With that in mind, I don’t think this tool is going to be adopted by too many experienced internet marketers with the exception of maybe being a competition analysis component. I appreciate the work and vision but I honestly don’t see much real value in this, sans competition analysis (i.e. just finding out who the authority sites are that you’ll be taking on in your niche) and finding out a top list of social media sites you can focus on targeting.

  90. Thanks for the heads up! This is a great addition to Market Samurai! MS has saved me hours on a new contract and has helped me get more business. Way to go, guys!

  91. Brilliant, will put it to use now!

Keep up the great work guys.

  92. Hey, what a great heads up. I got the free software and it is everything you told us to expect.

Hey, this looks cool, and it reminds me of an apparent limit in Market Samurai. It looks as though there is a 1000 link limit when doing Page Rank analysis, so one can only discover so much about the linking strategy of competitors that have 2000,3000 and more links. Will that limit ever be raised, or is there a way to get around that?

  94. Hi Guys
Thanks once again – I just don’t know how you come up with this great info.

  95. I agree. This is nice Software and thanks for sharing.

  96. Noble samurai is great software to use ..will surly try this new back-link software.

  97. Very cool software, but very time intensive. Trying to find places to drop the links is not that easy of a task. It is nice, don’t get me wrong, but it is not easy. Just thought I would mention that. That is even if you outsource, those people have to be intelligent enough to think outside the box and find where to drop the links.

  98. I tried and it’s work!
    Very nice, Thanks a lot

  99. Brent, thanks a lot for the awesome tip!

  100. I wish you would do a Market Samurai version that lets you choose which country version of Google, and with an improved user interface. Go on, you know you want to :)

    …and I think I might have found a bug.

    Brent Hodgson replied:

    Hey Mike,

When you’re creating a new Market Samurai project, just pick the country you want to target and Market Samurai will geotarget results, getting results from the country you’ve selected.

Would love to hear about the bug too.

    Hi Brent,

Sorry, I worded my post badly. I was talking about the Rank Decoding Engine and wishing Market Samurai would add its functionality into Market Samurai.

  101. I’m just new to the dojo but I’m already super stoked I joined. This is a great marketing tool for me. It’s also something I can use to wow the pants off clients…well maybe not pants…

  102. Oooo and it helps me find good content too. :)

  103. Hi Guys,
well done – even if it was not your own idea, to pass that on to the Market Samurai community is great. Thanks a lot for that :)

  104. Amazing software, even better than I thought!!

  105. Great free tool thanks…it would be great if they opened it out to other search engines in other countries like Google.co.uk.

  106. Wao its a very great and informative post. thank for the information…

  107. Great blog!

Can I just say, I love your domain name! noble samurai all the way!

  108. OK, this sounds too good to be true. I am just not that technical, but I so need to do this for my back links and ranking. Anyone who is up to commenting back with as much help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  109. Wow, this really sounds amazing! I can’t wait to download and start using this! If it’s half as good as it sounds it could be one heck of a resource for SEO!

As always, thanks for the great info! I look forward to your next blog post!

  110. Hello,

Can someone advise if the websites that come out of the results of Rank Decoding Engine were follow or no follow links?

    Thank you,

  111. Dear Noble Samurai,

Looks like the Crowd Mountain software is charging a hefty $127/month fee now. Has there been a change?

  112. Michelle’s done a great job with this software. How can you go wrong with it. The software is free yet its so powerful. Who ever hasn’t tried it, what are you waiting for.

PS. Market Samurai is by far the best KW tool…
Thanks for creating such an an,zing product. I look forward to new updates and modifications.

just went to the Crowd Mountain link and now she wants $ 127.00 a month. Wow from free to $ 127.00 month. What am I missing ??

    Hi Guys,

It appears to no longer be free!!! All of your links now go to a squeeze page for a monthly subscription a $127 per month!!! Not sure if its the original page you guys were pointing to.

    Brent Hodgson replied:

Thank you for letting me know, Clinton.

I’ve made a note at the top of the blog post to reflect this now.

Sadly, it looks like the free software is no longer available for free – although it is a tool that we have been using inside Michelle’s Crowd Mountain site (even before the software was released).

  115. Hi Brent,

You don’t happen to have spare copy lying around per chance?

  116. 116

Will this software still be available for those of us who have already downloaded it?
