A Peek At Our Goals for 2009

Ohayou Samurai!

It’s funny how such a minuscule push in the right direction makes such a massive difference to the level of success that we achieve in life.

Look at something as simple as setting a goal.

It’s such a simple, easy action – but it’s like taking out your GPS and picking a location that you want to travel to.

It gives you purpose, direction, and stops you from travelling in circles – and without it, how would you know what success and achievement in your own life even looks like?

3 Characteristics of Successful Goals

If you’re staring at the blank canvas that is 2009, and wondering how you will make your mark and what you will achieve, let me offer 3 goal-setting tips that have worked for us:

  1. Be specific about what you want to achieve;
  2. Write down your goals;
  3. And share your goals with others.

This is something that we have been doing ourselves lately at the Noble Samurai “Dojo” – 2008 was a big year for us, but 2009 is going to be even bigger.

But there’s one thing that we haven’t done yet… #3 – share our goals with others.

Our Goals for 2009

Here are some of the things that the Noble Samurai team will be achieving in 2009:

  • Finalize and release the next (top secret) module in Market Samurai (which will be free to all current Market Samurai owners), as well as the Adwords, Publish Content and Monetization modules;
  • Complete a 14-day basic training course that people receive when they sign up to receive Market Samurai;
  • Get half of the large set of niche sites that we play with/test with into the top 3 spots in Google;
  • Attract 10,000 bloggers using Market Samurai to get more traffic to their blogs;
  • Attract 40,000 additional internet marketers using Market Samurai;
  • Alpha-test, then [gently] launch our Adwords Keyword-Match Tracking service to the general public;
  • Release a top-secret project (currently in early development, details to be released in late 2009);
  • Grow a Samurai community of online marketers;
  • Continue to publish blog posts several times each month, with valuable content for the Samurai community;
  • Communicate more frequently with Market Samurai users via email;
  • Connect with 5,000 Market Samurai users via Twitter (@NobleSamurai);
  • Test and launch our affiliate program;
  • Complete our Adwords campaign by writing ads and researching keywords around each of the 8+1 modules inside Market Samurai;
  • Create keyword-optimized landing pages for the best performing ads;
  • Hire 1 new staff member in a support / admin role.

So, what are some of the things you want to achieve in 2009? – in your relationships, personal life, career, internet business – in any aspect of your life.

Remember:

  1. Be specific about what you want to achieve;
  2. Write down your goals;
  3. And share your goals with others.

You can start now, and share your goals with us in the comments below – even anonymously if you wish.

We’d love to hear about what you will be achieving in 2009 – and hopefully we can help you achieve some of your internet marketing goals through Market Samurai.

  1. Thanks for sharing guys! I love your software and can’t wait to see the great additions and added value you will bring to us in 2009. Happy New Year to you!

  2. First – thanks for the great post. It really IS amazing what can happen with a little concerted (and protracted) effort. I’ve set a goal of writing 300 articles about my industry in 2009 – and even if the goal isn’t met, I know the effort and intent will make a huge dufference.

    Secondly – can’t wait to see what new goodies you add to the Samurai. Plus, your training course will be an excellent addition to the product – will happily delve into it as soon as you guys meet your goals of creating it!

    Best wishes for a fantastic 2009.

    Great post Brent! I believe that you all will achieve all of the goals you set for yourselves. Thank you for a fantastic 2008 and looking forward to an even more awesome 2009!

  4. I was just thinking today about what was useful and important for my business in 2008. I concluded that if I had to choose just one tool or process to other online business people, it would be Market Samurai. I enjoyed reading about your goals and look forward to hearing more. I’ve also followed you on Twitter.

  5. I’ve started following you on Twitter and I reckon your goal for achieving 5000 followers in 2009 is quite feasible!
    Actually, I am thinking on setting my own goals for an online business which I believe will highly parallel those of yours concerning new amazing features of Market Samurai.
    Wish you good luck and happy New Year!

  6. Hi & nice style laying things out in the open like that. It’s a fresh style that helps to inspire others, I’m sure.

    For myself, 2008 was a year of one major decision: To retire in March 2009, at age 40. Despite having a >JOBJOB< ain’t the only way! <== Biggest goal.

    How do I know all that it’ll work out? Because it IS working out. I’m doing what I need to do to make it happen. And it’s a groovy ride baby.

    By the way for any geeks out there who get bogged down in geeky stuff, the huge change for me was letting go of having to do all the coding and wotnot myself. A while back I got tired of sorting out pain-in-the-butt technical issues, and now get others to do most of that. THAT is a game-breaker. I’m now more of a ‘coordinator of resources’, and that means being able to build a business instead of poking around trying to get a webpage to work in all the main browsers or whatever. Good luck!

    So all the best with your goals everyone. I’ll sure be using Market Samaurai to help execute mine.

    For myself, 2008 was a year of one major decision: To retire in March 2009, at age 40. Despite having a *JOB* that many envy, I’m tired of doing the same ‘ol thing which I’m not passionate about. At first I thought I’d just cut back on hours, but for some reason the ‘unreasonable’ notion of finishing work popped into the skull, and here we are, 3 months to go.

    In 2009:
    * Retire in March.
    * Spend a week in Okinawa Japan with ma gal in May.
    * Spend a month in Italy with ma gal in September.
    * Move back to my town of birth in November, which is one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand. Amazing beaches, no more cold winters.
    * During my times away, it’ll be a ‘working holiday’, a few hours a day working on my online businesses with my laptop.
    * Be an inspiration to the people around me to show them that *JOB* ain’t the only way! <== Biggest goal.

    How do I know all that it’ll work out? Because it IS working out. I’m doing what I need to do to make it happen. And it’s a groovy ride baby.

  17. 17

    A pretty lofty list of goals if I do say so myself. I’m going to enjoy seeing them all come to life along the course of the year.

    I’ll share one of mine with you while I’m here looking on in awe of what is coming up this year from the amazing crew at Noble Samurai.

    One major goal is promoting to the nth degree this incredible must have tool.

    Happy New year all and thanks to the folks at Noble Samurai for making such a big difference.

  18. Hey Brent and the rest of the team:

    Market Samurai has easily been the best tool I’ve used ..and I’ve been online since 1999.

    I’ve only started in the past year or so writing goals down and it does make a difference.

    This year, I want to change my site from sending physical product to just downloadable reports/ebooks to enable me to travel and work more..not having to ship from here….Or do so well as to have a fulfillment situation..there’s another thought!

    I am really looking forward to your training course as I feel I’m probably missing some of the gems in MS…that’s going to be wonderful.

    Have a Great New Year and I think we’ll all do better in 2009 just for having your software..

    Cheers,
    Deb

  19. Yes, Market Samurai is a very powerful tool. It will surely help me reach my goals of going from a couple hundred per month to a couple thousand instead! I’m looking forward to your 14-day course and to the new additions to your software. Thanks for creating such a useful tool!

    Hi to everyone and a good New Year, although it is still 2008 here in Scotland.
    I have to say that Market Samurai is one of the better things that I have purchased in the way of Internet Marketing tools and I look forward to all the new developments that will make my life easier and draw in loads of money.
    Since discovering 30DC and Samurai and the community that goes with it, I have been really inspired to go the Internet Marketing route and have already set my goal for 2009 of giving up my day job in the next couple of months.
    There I’ve said it now so I will have to do it.
    Thanks to the Samurai team for all the good work they do, Ed and Dan as well.
    Have a good 2009.

  23. Hello fellow Samurai,
    Thanks to all who create and support the this great tool.

    My goal for 2009 is to build 10 highly targeted, SEO optimized, keyword driven marketing campaigns that earn over $100,000 in income for me.

    I am confident that this can be done with the help of the 30DC, Market Samurai, and their great communities. Thanks in advance to you all for your help.

    Looking forward to the training videos, and hope to become an expert (Black Belt) Samurai user.

    Here’s to successful marketing in 2009.

    You have an excellent product and interesting plans. Glad you are devoting yourselves to this…and helping us “non experts.” Good luck in the new year.

  25. Thanks for the timely message. An exciting new year coming up and plenty happening at your end. Great stuff. I’m currently ruminating on what goals I’ll be writing down, then going to the beach for a swim. It’s almost 30 degrees (celsius) already here. Goal #1, work less hours, let go a bit, live more fully.

  26. Hi Guys

    I am a complete newbie at IM.

    My goals for 2009 is to learn as much as I can about the alchemy of successful internet marketing.

    Come the middle of 2009 to be skilled in driving traffic to my site.

    By the end of 2009 i will have a profitable business.

    Meet you here in a year with the champagne.

    John

  27. Hey Guys,

    Count me in for helping with the following goals:
    - Attract 10,000 bloggers using Market Samurai to get more traffic to their blogs
    - Attract 40,000 additional internet marketers using Market Samurai
    - Test and launch our affiliate program

    Market Samurai has been a huge asset to my business this year and I’d be glad to help promote it any way I can.

  28. I heard about this product through Ed Dale on Internet Marketing this Week. He is very impressed by the product. I believe I will give it a try. Great goals for the year as well. Very inspiring!

  29. I just discovered Market Samurai tonight for the first time and I am very impressed with its capabilities after trying several other keyword research tools.

    One of my goals for 2009 is to uncover at least 50 “buying” keyword phrases, each one having more than 500 daily visitors, and less than 150,000 competing pages on Google, having the following characteristics:
    - these 50 keywords are searched for by people ready and willing to get rid–right away, and for good–of at least one negative, bad-feeling emotional reaction to various circumstances in their life (e.g. frustration) in the fastest, easiest, cheapest and most efficient possible way (and these people are willing to pay the comparatively cheap price and take the comparatively small amount of time to accomplish such freedom from negative emotions).

    Another goal for 2009 is to get at least 10000 of those people, who will end up on my website via the above 50 keywords (after the site gets into the top 5 positions on Google for these keywords), to participate either in an individual session or in a group workshop with me, in which I will take them through my time-tested process which I call the Unconditional Freedom Process.

    Another goal is to make at least $100–in the form of income and/or donations–from each of these 1000 people over the course of 2009, in compensation for the great savings of time, money, energy and life that they benefited from as a result of going through the above programs with me.

  30. Hi guys.

    Nice post.

    Can you add to your list of goals, making your product more accessible for blind people who use screen reading software.

    Currently it’s unusable by this large sector of net users.

    Cheers
    Darren

    I am completely new to IM and have just started doing the 30DC and so ended up here looking at this great little piece of software.

    My goals for 2009 are that by 31st December I will have:
    – built my online business to the level of £2000 per month income
    – left work and be able to totally concentrate on my online business
    – finally, after 33 years of marriage, get my husband on to a plane to just about anywhere (this one I may not manage, but hey ho I might as well try, again)

  32. Hi Brent,

    I have just found Market Samurai a couple of weeks ago through Niche Blueprint. Phew.. I managed to get in before it closed. So far, one of my best find is getting acquainted with Market Samurai. It really got me ‘keyword crazy’. Today I am a proud owner and user. Just bought it about 2 hours ago. Awesome product. Now I am going to make it pay for my IM training and expenses, and for my Dreams.

    My Dreams for 2009:
    1. Make $500 a day.
    2. Take my Mom for a holiday (Korea, maybe)
    3. Take my Children to Disneyland.
    4. Me and Hubby go for our second honeymoon to some exotic spa resort.

    Thanks ;-p

    Noor

  33. So, great product and presentation. Do email me & let me know when you get the affilate of this product up and running. In the meantime I’ll just have to tease my lists. Blessings Diana Adams

    specific=tangible most of the time. This is important. Set your goal so when you see if you can answer immediately without thinking whether you achieved it or not.

    Get great at website design >>>not tangible.

    Make a 10 page website with a custom-designed header, content of at least 1000 words per page and add 3 new-learned features. >>tangible.

  35. You guys absolutely ROCK!!! I just want to tell you that if I could only have 1 internet research tool at my disposal it would be Market Samurai! I feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t have this stellar tool. May all of you see great success for being so loyal to your clients. I can’t wait to use the new Warp Drive Market Samurai!!!

  36. PLEASE RESPOND

    I did a test on Market Samurai from here in Costa Rica. I only have 128k speed and it did not work for me.

    Can I work with this new version?

    Thank you Noble Samurai

  37. Hi Rafael,

    Please give it a try!

    If it doesn’t work out for you, let Support know, and we’ll do our best to get it working for you. :-)

    Cheers,
    Arlen
